Painting Stormtroopers by:Tony Rice
The Scoundrel's Gallery

Before you Begin:

This is a way I have redone the armor on vintage scout troopers that had yellowed. It should also work for vintage or newer stormtroopers, or any figure that needs white armor. By using spray paint as your base coat, you eliminate the need for priming and reduce the need for top coating.

Supplies

  • Krylon Flat White
  • Krylon satin white
  • Black paint
  • Sealer (optional)
  • Junk figure

Step 1

First, prime them with Krylon Flat White. Use 2 very light coats. If you aren't sure how heavy to spray on these base coats, practice on a junk figure.

Step 2

Then give them a final coat of Krylon Satin White.

Step 3

On top of this coat paint the black body suit in the appropriate.

Step 4 (Optional)

Seal the body suit areas if desired. Good luck!
