Mixing Paints by: Jeremy Beckett

Supplies

  • Mixing Plate

Before you Begin:

Never, ever, ever mix on the brush unless you want to contaminate your pots and mess up all your colors.

Step 1

Use a small plate or saucer - ceramic ones are best. If you can't find one to use then buy a cheap plastic palette from an art shop.

Step 2

When mixing two paints pour a small amount, say half a teaspoon, of each about 4 cm apart.

Step 3

Then draw some into the space between the two paints, wash your brush in a cup of water, and draw some of the other paint to the middle blob.

Step 4

Mix the two colors together and then add either color to get the right color. When you've pinned the mix to the right blend add the right proportions of each color to make a larger amount.

Step 5

The tip is to start small, get it right and then mix more for volume.

Step 6

Flat paints are recommend over glosses since this is the way that Kenner makes their figures.
