Before you Begin:
- This can be a very effective way to achieve an aged look. Especially usefull on droids and ships.
Step 1
Pick a color to use as a base coat. Whatever color you choose will depend on what type of look you are going for. If you want to have a droid that looks like he's been in the swamps paint it with a green base coat, if you want a weathered dirty look try using a black or brown base coat.
Step 2
Once you've painted the base coat (this may require more than one coat) you will want to apply the top coat. The top coat is the color you want the figure to be after it is finished. You may need to mix the paint to get which colors you like. Once you've found the color for the top coat, dip your brush into it and wipe off the majority of the paint (a sheet of paper works good to get rid of excess paint). For example, 5 drops of red and 1 drop of black were enough to paint the entire figure using the brush off on paper method. Brush lightly the figure you want to add the color to and keep repeating this until you get the desired effect.
Step 3
This can be a very satisfying painting experience. It is simple to do and takes little skill. You will get the aged and worn look without much effort. Soon you will be doing this to all of your customs.
