Before you begin:
This is the only version of Vader nobody's ever
made yet (as far as I know), and is from one of the
most powerful moments of the Trilogy. Here goes:
|
Step 1
Boil the Vader figure and position the arms
into a funerary position, and press the legs
together. Hold under cold water to harden.
|
Step 2
Cut off Vader's right hand, and generally bash
the figure into a weathered, beaten state.
|
Step 3
Sculpey on a wiry stump over the right wrist.
|
Step 4
Bake to harden the Sculpey.
|
Step 5
Paint the figure in dull black. Then paint the
shoulder armor and chestpiece in a lighter grey, and
use red and white accents on the buckle and buttons.
Paint the stump of his hand black, and dot red and
white on it to simulate frayed wires.
|
Step 6
Next, break or saw apart the used inkpens and
mechanical pencils into various log-like sections
about 2"-2.25" long.
|
Step 7
Take the flat base and glue sections of dowel
horizontally around the lower edge.
|
Step 8
Glue the simulated logs vertically to the base
so that they are angled outward by the dowel.
|
Step 9
Slop brown paint in whatever empty spaces there
are. Then slop the paint along the logs themselves
and smear and scratch to produce wood-grain effects.
This is supposed to look natural and messy. Let it
dry completely.
|
Step 10
Spraypaint the pyre until it looks like a solid
wooden mass. Then brush-paint on wood-like colors
for accent.
|
Step 11
Lay Vader on top. There it is, Funeral Pyre Vader.
