PARTS

Ephant Mon by Thomas Langeveld

Supplies and Tools

  • Some hair (for mustage and on his head)
  • A thin tisue or hankerchief
  • Sculpey or an other clay (I always use Poly Fome)
  • Teeth ( if you can find some)
  • Small wooden stick (for his stick off course
  • Piece of thin soft metal (for his nails)
  • Paint
  • Brushes
  • Sculping tools
  • Metal wires
  • 5 tooth picks
  • Reference pictures

Step 1

First sculpting a base for his body and head and stick the tooth picks (suRrounded with the metal wires) where his arms, legs and tail are coming.

Step 2

Start sculpting the details on his head. In his under jaw you can better add a metal wire too so that it can't break off. And also push the tooth (they're my mum's) in his mouth (only in his under jaw). An also make a small cut where his mustache is suppose to come. (see picture)

Step 3

Cut nails out the thin metal plate and round them a bit.

Step 4

Sculpt his arms, legs and tail (believe me it really isn't that hard). He has three fingers, three toes (mine has two toes but I didn't know it back then), I thought two small toe nails at the outside and one longer nail toe at the inside. When sculpting his fingers don't forget to push his nails in the clay. Try to sculpt his fingers so that they can hold the stick.

Step 5

Then past the hair above his head (it's my own hair). And also past the hair in the cut for his mustache.

Step 6

Then glue the tissue on his body (I first painted his body). And harden the tissue with a few layers of paint.

Step 7

Then paint the the final colors.

Step 8

Give him his wooden stick.
