Heres a figure that didn't see much love when the casting call came out. I did this figure when the casting was posted but I did not have a camera at the time so here he is.

tonphanan

Here is a Clonetrooper in dress attire.

Bail Organa body
At-Te gunner head
Electrical tape for sash
NoMercyJoe
I can't see the pick...I have a mental image though...(with the different parts you said)
tonphanan
the photo may be too or something it comes up fine when I go into it. I'll see what I can do.

wow!
Delaton
Cool idea, although I'm not sure that the clones would all be in Alderaanian ouniforms. Maybe painting the uniform something more imperial might work?
Findswoman
This sounds like such a neat concept, definitely one I've never seen before... but alas, all I'm getting is "Oops! My image for this link is no longer here"... sad.gif

UPDATE: Ah, just noticed that you posted the link -- thanks much. He looks very cool (though the picture is a little blurry). The sash is a nice touch; is it painted on, or added on some other way? Following up on Delaton's comment, I agree that a different color for the uniform might make it look less "Alderaanian" -- perhaps a darker, dressier version of that brick red that the clones are seen wearing at the Kamino facility in Ep. II. Or even all black -- the yellow of the sash look very striking on black. Just a thought.

By the way, which head is it that you used? I've seen this one in various clone-type customs before, but can't remember what actual figure it was from. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's a good likeness of the Tem Morrison / Bodie Taylor mix.

Good to see your work here once again -- happy customizing!

Yay for red! biggrin.gif

Very neat design, Tonphanan; is this an original, or is it based on a canon design? (And please pardon this stupid question, but what exactly is the Coalition?) He almost looks part droid, especially the head, which reminds me of EV-9D9 from Jabba's Palace. The flip-down blue visor is a neat touch, too. I'd love to hear what parts you used for this one.

Keep up the nice work, and happy customizing!

(Points up)

AT-TE Gunner / Evolutions clone.

Dammit, now I have to put my AT-TE gunner's head on my Bail...

Say, how about Captain Antilles for a body? He's not freakishly tall for a clone, nor does he have that girly belt buckle. For the Imperial look, just pop the head on a Tarkin, or any of the officers that are coming out.
theplasticone
Nice interpretation of the Coalition Trooper. Don't know if I like the huge shoulder bells or not (and I know the neck is too long), but it's definately a unique custom.
Jesse James
I think a cool idea to mix it up some would be AT-ST Han legs and the Bail body... I like the idea of the sash but more across the body and I'd use cloth personally. A cheap remnant. Not sure on the colors but I like the placement of the Republic logo. I agree with Del though that a paintjob's in order at the very least to set it off from the Bail body. Something just to make it not blend in so well.
tonphanan
Thanks for the comments guy. I thought about repainting but I couldn't decide on what so I'll take your comment and see what I can do. I don't have an Antillies body but I'll see about shorting it up some other way.

The head is from an AT-TE Gunner I repainted it a little darker so that it matches the repainted hands.

Thanks for the comment I'll post something new later.
tonphanan
Thanks Finds..The Coalition Trooper was a FFURG Casting Call way back in Feb 2004, My figure is based on the drawing of that trooper.

Parts:
Head and Helmet-Scapel from G.I. Joe
Torso-Stormtrooper Concept
Arms-Coil Viper
Shoulder Armor-Iron Grenadier (Spy Troops)
Legs-Duke (VvV)

I didn't even notice about the neck. All the parts are moveable I'm better at more solid figures I'll try something different.
NoMercyJoe
Nice concept....maybe a red or black uniform? The neck seems a bit too long also.
Fritzkrieg
Very Original Idea!

I could deffinatly see Clones dressed like this for formal occasions, where they don't want to Scare Guest with Armored Troopers. It kind of reminds me of how the Secret Service wears Suits to Blend in, Rather than wearing a Military Uniform when the Pres. Apears in Public.

I might have to give this one a try myself.

Keep up the Great Work,

Fritzkrieg
Master_phruby
That is a good idea - a dress uniform for clones. What if you painted the figure a dark olive green color simular to Tarkin. I like the stripe on the side and I think it would look less alderaane looking in a different color.
Glassman6
That is a pretty cool idea. I like the overall look of it.
He's ready for the Clone trooper's Ball
Good work.

Good work.

The Clone Troopers' Ball -- you know, Glassman, that's a really really neat idea! Sounds like a way cool idea for a diorama -- someone should give it a try! Whaddaya say, Tonphanan? cool.gif

But that raises the question: whom would they be taking to the ball? Naboo royal handmaidens? Young female Jedi (which would probably go against the Jedi code of the time)? Or would it be a stag affair?

Depends on your point of view -- if the have a streak of oedipus in them, I'd suggest Lama Su. A test tube may also be appropriate :-P.

Well, in real life, Temuera Morrison is married to the lady who played Taun We, so it's by no means unimaginable! smile.gif

Gosh, now I'm feeling the urge to add some of those AT-TE gunner heads to my "wants" list and give a Clone Ball diorama a try meself: "Ladies and gentlemen, may I present TX-429 and Stasis Chamber 318-A." biggrin.gif

Esther,

I'm glad you found a far more eloquent way to express the idea. I'm betting there's an increase tomorrow in the prices of Lama Su with Clone Chamber figures on ebay. :-P

Tee hee! Thanks, Mitch, I try! biggrin.gif

In fact, why don't I just add that to my trade list right now...

A clone trooper ball thats funny. I'm going to post a picture (hopefully) tomorrow with a more Imperial looking clone suit and a repaint of the original figure.

If I shorten the neck anymore it will be on his chest the picture porbably doesn't give a good representation of that.
tonphanan
[SIZE=1]Here are the pics of 2 clones I like my repainted one over the other one.

Here is the clone escorting

And the Clone on his own
tonphanan
I really wish the pictures would turn out clear they look good until I load them..anyway.

My repainted clone has a rank insignia of 4 red dots on the grey spot on the sash. I went with a darker grey for the shirt and and off black for the pants.

My more Imperial looking guy was a Gardinan body, Ric Olie arms and the Gunner head.
tonphanan
Here's a fun one I did. ROTS Cannon Yoda with sculpted legs and a VOTC cloak

Findswoman
Alas, once again, the pictures are not showing up! sad.gif Might you provide us with link(s) once again?

Thanks,

Findswoman
Much better -- thanks a bunch! smile.gif

Very neat arrangement. If they weren't in a battle situation, I'd call them definitely very cute! smile.gif Perhaps I'm showing my ignorance here about these particular two figures, but what exactly were the alterations / customizations that were necessary to make this pose possible?

The only thing that doesn't look quite right is the big holes in Yoda's feet, which are very exposed in this pose, but that's unavoidable if one wants to take him down and pose him on a stand sometimes. Otherwise, very nice! cool.gif

... the Findswoman
Delaton
Need to post the link to the website. The linked images aren't working for ya. dry.gif
tonphanan
I kept the holes in the feet fto keep with whole "toy" concept. The Chewie is a ROTS Chewie with no change, but the yoda required the legs being sculpted over the shoulders of Chewie so while it is a simple custom it is a toy you will not see and great for the escape from Kashyyk diorama.
Delaton
I'm lovin' this more and more. I may have to try this custom...maybe with a Lt Faytonni body since it's supposed to be an Imperial Officer outfit.
Master_phruby
That looks alot better. Good idea for a custom. Too bad the head has such a stupid expression on his face. Maybe a repaint on the head is in order?
CorranHorn
tonphanan,

oh yeah I remember that Casting Call, didn't go over so well... sad.gif

nonetheless I like your interpretation of the trooper, he has a slick almost reptilian feel to it. the color scheme is spot on to the design. about the only suggestion I would make is to trim the neck down a bit to bring it back down to a human proportion. cool stuff!

happy customizing!
Jesse James
I really really like the 2nd attempt tonphanan, with the Imperial costume. I think it blends a bit better as "Imperial" or even a Republic transitional look... The Bail body still strikes me as wrong for the character, plus it's taller than average for some reason, but the Impy uniform stands out as pretty perfect I think.

Good painting too, to make the figure not just one bland grey or green-grey color... Something that looks a bit dressy, and interesting. I like it a lot, and it's a good idea I think.
tonphanan
I know everyone does clones but I'm still trying to figure out my new camera and Clones seem to be the only pictures that came out.

First is a couple of Clone Commanders

E3 Clone from Evolutions pack body
Cast of Scorch helmet
Orange Clone has a removeable helmet, again, cast
Cast of ARC Trooper Pauldron

ARC Trooper

Quick Draw body
Clone commander Pauldron, skirt gun holsters
Arc Skirt, Target antenna and gun
I liked the Secret Ceremony Stand, in person, it gives the trooper a menacing look to have a heavly armed trooper around a beautiful piece of work.

I posted these others at JD for one of their challenges, Gladiators and Issard/Daala

I like the bombstrike torso. I know it is not real uniform to the lower half of the body, but I still like the way they turned out.
pbarny
Let's work on the new camera wink.gif But it all goes to the we should start a thread for photography/article about things like lighting, macros, zooming, flash etc.

I like the Tusken, but feel nipple rings would put this guy over the top ph34r.gif

The arm/shoulder on the Daala is a bit wide. That a Cover Girl comic head? She looks a bit too young/cheerful for that character

Now, your Isard is the class of the group. Dead on, excellent.
tonphanan
My old camera (last three pics) seemed to work better, maybe I can get something better for christmas hypocrite.gif
Yes it is a cover girl head it was the only head I could find that gave the long brownish hair. Thanks on the Isard I used a cast of a Mara Jade head I got in a trade. The arms are Hoth Leia.
Delaton
I've found that since I got a small tripod (max. 4'-0" high fully extended), control over the lighting and focus of my customs has increased dramatically.
Ben Skywalker
Sniff Sniff...... Do I detect James' helmet casts? dry.gif Looks good I like the clones from what I can see. The gladiator is sweet! What chest did you use?
tonphanan
Shirtless pirate from Chap Mei pirate series. Check out dollar stores or Kmarts for the figure.
tonphanan
At first this was going to my version of Darth Pleaguise (sp?) the Wise but I've read he was more alien than human so this just a Sith Lord. The shading (scar) on the face looks very nice in person I have about 6 layers of coloring on it in a variety of shades.

This one is Vader from the One shot comic. Battle bamage body with the torn cloak and damaged helmet. The close up of the helmet has the flesh eye exposed with metal surrounding it, very similar to what the comic shows.

tonphanan
My interpertation of Vader from the cover of Insiders a few months back.

VOTC Boba Fett with the Head from the Evolutions E2 Trooper. The helmet is a display piece and does not fit.

Ben Skywalker
Nice customs! I've said this before on a different boba custom, he looks to young. Maybe the head would work if scar it up a little. Or use the death star gunner head and scar it. Just an idea.
tonphanan
Saga2 Vader
Screaming Windu
The figure writes itself.

tonphanan
Speeder Bike Darth Maul legs, EI Dath Maul Torso, screaming Windu head and transplanted horns.

25th Anniversary Vader from Vader vs. Kenobi, right arm from Saga Bespin Vader.

Darth Maul is a counter weight on Vader, he falls over without Maul.

pbarny
Well it works. Think about darkening the wound on or around the exit would a little. Rather see some dios of the Star Wars Tales feature Vader vs Maul.
tonphanan
SA Clonetrooper (Clone Wars series) ARC head

Simple, but posed for action
