Sand pirates use all manner of improvised vehicles to attack those that may have something they want. Everything from small swoops to stolen racers are outfitted with makeshift weapons of destruction.

When the mining companies abandoned Tattooine due to lack of exploitable resources, they left behind thousands of pieces of machienery ranging from small sonic excavators to massive mobile smelting factory sandcrawlers. The sand pirates have taken advantage of many of these derelict vehicles, especially a small fleet of dune borers which they use to attack their enemies from below.

My Mother-In-Law made my a screen-accurate replica of Tom Baker's original "Timelord scarf" from the beginning of his tenure as the Fourth Doctor! I found the pattern on-line and she hand-made this for me over the last few months and gave it to me for Christmas.

She said she will make me the other 2 scarves (tan shades and burgundy shades) he wore during his run on the series in the future! smile.gif

As many of you are probably aware, I have been incommunicado all last week. I was enjoying a vacation with my family in the island nation of Puerto Rico! Despite being hit by Hurricane Irene on Monday/Tuesday, we still went all over the island and experienced as much as we could during our week-long stay!

Here are a few random shots from the almost 800 pictures I took:

The very beginning of Hurricane Irene.

Me at the Aricebo Radio Telescope.

The Rio Cayun Caverns.

The famous El Morro fortress in Old San Juan.

A massive (I'm 6' so this gives you an idea how big this is, and yes, I know I have to lose some weight as I'm built more like Kilowog than Hal Jordan LOL) Tiano Indian head carving near Isabella.

If anyone is interested in seeing more of the pics, hit up my Facebook page, you'll find a link in my sig! smile.gif

5 or 6 weeks ago, I was in my garage looking through my fodder boxes looking for a part for my most recent creation, the repulsorskiff "Niddler's Revenge" and stumbled across a gallon-sized ziplock bag full of those crappy ROC spring-loaded missile launchers (as well as some old ARAH, Iron man 2 and misc. ones mixed in). Initially, I was going to toss them in the trash as they are more or less useless, but decided to see if there was any way of salvaging them for dio parts or tech details.

This is what I came up with:

Fusion Generators

Perimeter Sensors

Size Comparison:

Sensor Pods

Size Comparison:

Sand Pirate Watch Tower

Not too bad for stuff that was destined for the trash, huh?

There were 3 more devices built for this project, but I have not decided on color schemes for them yet so they will be posted at some point in the future...

Not too shabby for stuff that was initially going to be tossed out, huh?

More diorama accessories (2 more generators and a bunch of other items) coming next week!
