I was going through my fodder bins today and realized what great fodder heads we have compared to a decade ago. Back then, Galoob's Star Trek TNG and Dragonheart figures were about the best we could hope for if you wanted to "individualize" a figure. The number of POTF2 Luke and Han heads used for.. just about any human male custom was ...saddening.

Like: Han Head + Painted Mustache + TIE pilot body = Baron Fel.
Really.

But finding alternatives was tough, and expensive. (Ash wasn't casting way back when.)

Not so much now.

In the last couple years you could find on clearance shelves: Caribbean pirates, de-aged Trekers , Narnians, revamped and throwback Joes, Pandorans, Nazi-fighting archeologists, Super Dupers, and now, very cheap at a Target near you: Persians!

This isn't even counting all the SW variety we have now.
Do you have 2 identical rebel pilots and 2 identical Imperial Fleet troopers? Just swap a trooper head and a pilot head and your forces won't be clones! (Uh, except for the clone troopers...) I hate seeing over-recycled heads, but any more, there are just so MANY background characters that odds are no one will know your 2nd Imperial naval trooper looks a lot like Jake Farrel, (Who?!) just that he looks different from your 1st trooper.

You can even use the Hoth Rebel trooper to make your own Tim/Savrip custom! (Add yellow wash to hair and beard, though.)

That went long. To summarize:

1)Jake Gylenhal can be yours for $2

2) The pilots for my Home One briefing scene are finally looking as diverse as they should.

None of my dioramas made it to Hasbro's finalist round, so I thought I'd post them here.

Teth was a fun way to display an AT-TE

Plaza Battle I loved the scene in the microseries where Yoda and Mace push back that huge wave of SBD's.

Geonosis My compacted arena.

Hey customizers.

Since Hasbro is making EVERYONE even mentioned in Star Wars, and generally making them well, my figure customizing has really slowed lately. Pretty much the only thing I have the urge to build anymore are diorama fillers.

So the link above is to my destroyed dwarf spider. It is made from a cast "face"and antenna assembly, cast legs that I twisted while curing, a few greeblies, and a gumball machine bubble.

These guys fill out Genosis, Coruscant, and Kashyyk dioramas nicely.

Hey Gang,

Does any of you have a good material and method for making ships hover above the ground? I am a huge fan of fishing-line-from-the-ceiling for high-flying ships, but I need a bottoms-up support for speeders, droids, low-flying cloud cars, etc.

Plexiglass? If so, how have you mounted it...?

I'm intersted to hear anything you've tried.

Thanks!
