From The Adventure Team Mission Logs:

We first encountered the technology thieves calling themselves "The Idea Men" when they raided Starkk's research facility on Dantooine looking to steal the prototype for Starkk's newest Micro-A.R.C. reactor. The Idea Men quickly overwhelmed Starkk's security teams using an assortment of (most likely stolen) advanced tech including multi-frequency sonic stunners, pulse rifles and micro gravity enhancers. Luckily a trio of my Adventurers were visiting Starkk's facility and were able to repulse the Idea Men before they could make off with the only working prototype of the Micro-A.R.C.. Little did we know at the time that the commander of the Idea Men (who goes by the codename "The Big Idea") had used his highly advanced datapad to tap into one of Starkk's mainframes and download the complete technical specs for a number of Starkk's inventions, including the target of their raid. Since then, we have tangled with the Idea Men on several occasions.

The Idea Men have stolen advanced tech from several of the Galaxy's leading weapons and technology producers including M.A.R.S., Cybot Galactica, Blastech and others.

The funniest thing regarding the Idea Men: for all of their advanced technology, they seem to constantly forget to turn on their helmets' external speakers when issuing demands resulting in having to repeat themselves several times since all you can hear is muffled mumbling until the speakers are activated...

Idea Men Troopers

I made 4 of them for this project:

The Idea Men!

Note: This is one of the more obscure "Crossovers" I have incorporated into my 'Verse. Can you guess where they originated?

I'm seeing the ROC/POC Cobra Commander body, but can't figure out the head exactly. And if it is the same head, how are these customs? What work was actually done in terms of new part/painting/non-accessorizing?

I no longer post parts recipies unless requested as most people didn't read them (as evidenced by the multiple posts asking what part was used where when it was clearly stated above LOL) but here you go:

The heads, torsos, jackets and most of the arms are from 4 ROC and a POC Cobra Commander.

The Troopers utilize the lower arms and the full legs from the ROC Neo Viper (forget which version) as well as the swivel joint pin from the Neo Viper arms that donated the gauntlets. I had to create a mid forearm swivel on the CC arms (the CC arms had a swivel at the wrist at the end of the jacket sleeve) by cutting the CC arms at the proper length for the NV gauntlets then installing the NV swivel pin.

The commander utilizes the Resolute CC legs and has the glove cuffs from the DCIH Heatwave figure with some random Clonetrooper hands.

The entire figures were repainted head (the eyes were a royal pain to get to look good as they are not sculpted symetrically sad.gif ) to toe save for the chrome faceplate on the Commander and the insides of their coats. the colors may be somewhat similiar to the original pieces, but rest assured, they have been fully repainted. I used a heavy gloss on the chestplates, helmets, boots and gloves (as well as other places) as I wanted these characters to look like professional tech thieves and not just like random mercs or soldiers.

Also, since no one guessed correctly on this board: These characters are inspiredby the very first villians on the cartoon series "The Tick".

I can't read right now unless it is The Very Hungry Catepillar, The Going to Bed Book, The Complete Adventures of Curious George, and Moo, Baa, Laa at the moment.
