Anyone heading to the 2010 GI Joe Convention this weekend in Providence? I've canceled plans to head to NJ (for other reasons) and I think the $12 admission may be enough to swallow. Even though I'm not a Joe collector, there's bound to be parts galore in 3-3/4" scale.

I've heard of it, but I'm not paying $500 or so for the convention set (Red Shadows) etc. The GI Joe collector's club, pay 50 bucks, get a terrible figure (Big Lob this year), and a metaphoric kick in the censored.gif . And you still need to pay an extra 500 to go to the con and get the set.

For $30, I'll kick you in the censored.gif literally, give you a figure, and feed you a meal and still probably make $5 on the deal. dry.gif

I take that to mean Paul will NOT be going to JoeCon.

Just explaining the average joe-fans' reaction to the official collector's club.

I know at Fan days III figures that I would consider fodder were selling in upwards of $5. May you have better luck and enjoy.

Paul I have $30 for you if I get to pick the figure and super size my meal.

I'm almost hoping for more diorama parts and pieces, base walls, etc. I have so many figures, there'd have to be the right fodder bin of 25th or ROC figures for me to pay more than $2 ea. I will say, however, that I'm hoping for some Indiana Jones stuff to be around too. We'll see tomorrow!

You can't wear a cup, and it would be standard 3.75"/4" figure.

Depending on what dio pieces you're looking for, Marauder John will be there, as well a bunch of military model makers. Probably nothing too scifi related though.

Side note, Indiana Jones and Star Wars are making an appearnce as exclusives, however you'd have to pay~$100 for an Endor Bunker and a red painted Indy Nazi Car. http://www.gijoecon.com/ri2010/con10souvenirs.cfm

And the con set if you pay the money upfront big time: http://www.gijoecon.com/ri2010/con10RAH-set.cfm for the 3.75" crowd & http://www.gijoecon.com/ri2010/con10ATbox-preview.cfm for the 12" crowd.
