All,
With the deadline for Casting Call #55 only a couple of days away, I figured that we should start thinking about a topic for the next one. Anyone with suggestions should post them here and we'll try to narrow it down to a poll question with maybe 4 or 5 choices. Thanks to those who have participated up to this point! Happy customizing!!! -------------------- |

Lets just be sure it doesn't conflict or become too similar to Yakfinities. KOTOR is a good subject and I'd love to do it (my vote) but it has also been mentioned over at Yak.
How about a weird one: Padme Amidala (any era, concept or movie) -------------------- Ashley

I second Del's Padme' suggestion. I also agree we need to make sure not to get the same topic as Yakinfinites just because a few of use do participate over there as well.

Padme' was done back in 2002. I think if we can keep the Casting Calls rolling we could always revisit some the older or less popular CC :cough: Coalition Trooper :cough:. Now Yakinfinities has very broad topics that allow more fan-fic type characters while FFURG more often than not is specific in character or era. With that being said here are a few more ideas to knock around:
Aalya Secura-Not sure if there is alot that can be done here. A little fan-fic might be necessary Darth Vader (E3-ROTJ)-Battle damage might be the way to go KOTOR-multipule characters NJO-multipule characters Secret Apprentice-costume changes Ben Skywalker Darth Cadeus -------------------- JOIN IN THE FFURG CASTING CALL: NEW JEDI ORDER

Secret Apprentice is interesting. Definitely a few that could be done pretty easily.

I'm an old coot who barely knows anything beyond the first trilogy. I saw the second trilogy but barely remember them, and read a few of the books many years ago which I also barely remember.
What is KOTOR and NJO? I don't think I'd do a Padme one. She's boring. I only have one Padme fig, the celebration ceremony one. And it cost me $23 so I ain't messing with it. |

Lets just be sure it doesn't conflict or become too similar to Yakfinities. Agreed! My participation in Yakfinities is what led to my desire to bring back the casting calls, but I don't want to just duplicate what they're doing over there. In addition to the suggestions we've already gotten, I think that any of the following casting calls would be cool: - Realistically-styled The Clone Wars characters (Ahsoka Tano, anyone?) - New Jedi Order characters - The Force Unleashed characters - Vehicles I like James' suggestion of doing Aayla Secura, but he's right about the lack of variation. To spice it up, why not allow any and all costume variations (to include fan-fic). Heck, that could be a casting call of it's own - "Favorite Star Wars characters in Fan-Fic costumes". I know we'd see some cool Han Solo outfits from Gene! -------------------- |

Realistic style Clone Wars cartoon I like. NJO, KOTOR, and Force Unleashed are easy picks. I think these are my picks for a poll.

Vehicles should be a long one if picked. It requires a lot of time and resources to come up with a good vehicle.

I think I've pushed for NJO for the longest time.
But that can be a bit daunting, do you limit to just Jedi? Yuuzhan Vong? Main characters 25+ years after their first movie appearance? The other one I like because it is more recent, is Secret Apprentice all the various outfits. The Force Unleashed was the last "big thing" so freshest in most conciousness. this is the near and dear one to me...WotC original Art Work Character or Miniatures. -------------------- Paul

How are we gonna make this not Yakfinities? They're like the exact same thing.
I already have a ton of NJO figures. |

QUOTE How are we gonna make this not Yakfinities? They're like the exact same thing. I already have a ton of NJO figures. First, Yakfinities came much later than the Casting Calls, which date back to the listserv days of the mid 90s. Second, we don't want to do the same topic as any done at Yakfinities, let alone one being done at the same time. You've misunderstood. Third, the idea of casting calls, like any customs "contest" on any site is to make new figures. Existing figures, while worthy of posting and review, should not be the sole purpose of a Casting Call. If that were the case, then each of us would vote for something we've done a lot of work already in, just to have a lot of figures for the Casting Call. If we do go with NJO (not saying we are), it needs to be narrowed down. The topic is WAY too broad for a casting call. Pilots, specifically Rogue Squadron, has already been done. I'd even go so far as saying no Jedi, just to avoid all the Jaina/Jacen/Ben/Anakin/Mara customs. Personally, I like the idea if it was NJO of making a depressed post-Chewie-death Han. Not a Jedi or a Rogue pilot. -------------------- Ashley

NJO-Original trilogy characters Lando Calrissian Luke Skywalker Leia Organa Solo Han Solo Wedge Antilles Boba Fett Paul can fill in any gaps. Ignoring Luke, significant players in the NJO that are non-Jedi/non-Vong would be the above, as well as people like Booster Terrik, Talon Karrde, Grand Admiral Pelleon, Jagged Fel, Cal Omas, and Borsk Fey'yla. If you expand it further to include the Legacy of the Force/Jedi Exile you have Dalaa, Goran Beviin, Lon Shevu, Jori Lekauf, and Mirta Gev. Probably fold Beviin into the NJO as part of the Mandolorain 100 Brotherhood. Many sites have done significant NJO work when it first came out. People seem to forget just how long a series/story arc it was and it is being brought back with the new comic. It was almost 4 years beginning to end. My choices in order of preference: WotC Artwork/Minis Force Unleashed Many outfits of the Secret Aprentice NJO non-Jedi NJO Jedi. -------------------- Paul

I like the WOTC idea because for many characters that is the only playable/displable form they have ever been seen. It gives a decent base with colors and design.
If WOTC doesn't receive much support this time I will campainge for it the next time. Since we are easing back into the CC's I think Secret Apprentice is the way to go because it is something most if not all of us have knowledge of the character and the game and researching references wouldn't not be too difficult. -------------------- JOIN IN THE FFURG CASTING CALL: NEW JEDI ORDER
