Yep, my wife and I decided to come and do a little genetic experiment. This human (veal) custom is estimated to arrive around December 5, 2009. Just a single.

WIP pics (ultrasounds) to come. If you got big bucks, you can see the begining of the project. dry.gif j/k Actually, on her youtube account one can see the Eagles concert where maybe...

Not so loud. My wife may hear that. hypocrite.gif

What's sad is that I have to pack up most of my collection and customizing supplies in about October. Apartment dwelling sucks.

Major congratulations! thumbup.gif

Words can't accurately describe what you're about to experience and nothing can truly prepare you for it, but it'll be the greatest moment of your life!

Best of luck!!

You reproduced? We're in trouble...

Congratulations dude! There's nothing like the feeling you get when your child would rather spend time with you than anyone else in the world. thumbup.gif

This is always fun news. Hope you're wife is doing well and that she'll have a trouble free delivery. And hopefully by then YOU'll be doing fine as well! You know, people forget that so often. Us dads have it rough, you know. hypocrite.gif

Living with a pregnant woman is no picnic. What logic and rationale she had to start with goes out the window. My wife doesn't do the overly emotional, crying at the drop of a hat thing. She had a very short fuse while pregnant. Always pissed off. I hope yours doesn't do either one.

She just sleeps, eats, and forgets. She's put on maybe 2 lbs, but her whole body shape has changed. 10 weeks in. Heard the fetal heartbeat. A perfectly "normal" 136 beats per minute. We're going to start a picture of her profile every week from here on out. Just getting over the sticker shock of car seats, strollers, and cribs. blink.gif

HA! I know what you mean. I nearly had a breakdown on our first "pricing/planning" trip to Babies R Us. I was a beaten husk of a man...

Here's a helpful tip: Put everything (whether you think you need it or not!) on your baby registry. And if you haven't registered anywhere yet, do so. Baby registry + grandparents will provide most of your big ticket items.

Her parents are in China (plus only child)...mine retired teachers. We do well enough, and we can do it all piecemeal and take whatever we get from say my brother who's the only one outside of us with a job. I plan to do it, my wife sees it as begging.

One weird tradition I learned about is that my father is actually the one responsible for naming the child. Yep, paternal grandfather's name their grandchildren.

I'm just going to share some of the chinese names/characters I have learned as possible names. Longni (low-nigh) = Dragon's Milk. Unique use of the most common character in boy's names, Long. Lili (lilly) = lilly/beautiful flower/swift flower/agile beauty depending on the specific character. The English names we're pretty close to settled on already (but not sharing).

All of my boys have names ending with the "N" sound. Nevan, Gavin, Aiden, and Corran. I thought that was a pretty neat little idea. The only thing I'm not happy about is finding out that Gavin and Aiden are very popular names for children their ages (4 and almost 3) Nevan, however is quite unique. It's pronounced like Evan, but where I live people who have never heard his name tend to say it like nuh-vaughn.

Paul, I suggest investing in a good baby swing. Put the child in the swing with moderate volume music playing when you're not holding him/her. This will allow you to be "hands free" more often (which you will find makes getting bottles or living life in general much easier) and the music gets the child used to sleeping through noise. That way you don't have to feel like you're walking on egg shells when he/she is sleeping and if you make a little noise the music drowns it out anyway.

Just had the second trimester ultrasound. The next little boy to dream of blasting out of Tatooine and blowing up the Death Star...

Yeah, I said little boy.

So everything's been assembled and out for a few weeks now. Even have had the car seat inspected (not a law, but hospital/insurance policy requires it). No unusual symptoms in my wife. Just a bit of swelling now towards the end. Soon...Soon...

Patience, for the Jedi it will be time to be born as well.

In preperation bought a matress for my mother in law when she arrives in Feburary or so. Also decorated already for Christmas since who knows. Now if only I could get work to stop adding things for me to do.
