I found this neat website while looking for Diorama parts makers. This site sells silicone rubber molds for use in casting stone blocks and shapes. These pieces are then used to make castles and buildings for 25mm wargames.

Hirst Arts Fantasy Architecture Inc.

Before I customized SW figures, I played a lot of miniature wargames and AD&D and this kind of product blew me away. I'm now thinking of the uses for SW dioramas, specifically Yavin and Naboo.

Anyone use this site's products before and could give me a recommendation?

I've never used them Del, but I think they're fairly simplilstic... For people who cast anyway (such as yourself). I think, personally, you'd be further ahead to try making your own molds if you can get ahold of wall pieces or floor pieces... If that makes any sense.

I've had that site bookmarked for probably 5 years now, and had similar ideas, but I've never really compared costs of buying what they sell and such. They seem to cast in inexpensive materials (plaster and such) to get their walls and things, nothing pricey like resin...

If you check it out, let us know and keep the site updated. I'm curious but not pulling the trigger for a while if I do ever.

Anything of this magnitude, I'd cast in fine plaster. Resin would quickly become too expensive for this process.

Im also a military modeller, and to make walls, streets, or any building, without a cast or molds i always prefer to use DAS clay and a knife to make the desired shape.

i will take a picture of a little street vignette to show you.
