Hello!

I'm interested in beginning some diorama work. Can anyone suggest what to use as a base? I don't want to use the standard bases that come with figures. I've seen round bases cut out from wood, plastic ones, I've even seen a cd with the middle hole sealed closed and painted black.

Is there anything I can find in stores (hobby shops) that isn't too expensive? Or at least someting I can use/make myself that's pretty simple?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Talking figure stands or the actual dio floor?

I'm looking at dio floors. I've seen the ones that have things like trees, shrubbery, rocks, or stuff like pieces of droids strewn around.

I've been looking around some of the dios from the customizers here and saw an ewok/biker scout one, a Felucia one, etc.

Not figure stands (sorry I wasn't clear), perhaps something bigger than a circumference of 6 inches. Thanks!

You're looking at probably using something like masonite, chip board, particle board, sheathing plywood or what ever is cheapest around you. Usually 1/4 inch minimal, but 3/8th would be a little more rigid. All my big construction pieces use a 3/8 inch floor and 1/4 inch walls (slightly more flexible).

REMOVED LINK BY ADMIN ph34r.gif something of interest. I was looking for plastic sheets to use for flooring of a diorama/playset. I don't know this guy, plus he's got zero feedback so bid at your own risk!

Does anyone know where to get something like this? Lowe's & Home Depot don't carry ABS sheets. I don't want to pay $20 for shipping for something like this on ebay.

My idea is to use an upside down coke crate for the base. I'll use a hole saw to cut holes about 1/4 inch from each corner and insert PVC pipe for supports to hold the next level. I was planning on using plastic sheets for the flooring and walls.

No Ebay links at FFURG. Forum rules.

I thought that was only if I were selling it, but I just re-read the rules and I was in the wrong. Sorry.

I think their 2'x2' ABS sheets are exactly what I need. Thanks!
