Weechee's pick is the same image on the potf version.

Glassman,

Those look like period Kenner cards -- good work on airbrushing without losing all the details... I really like these cards...

the object above her left shoulder (Our right) is to close to skin color and blends in with her shoulder to much, I cant tell if its cloth on her hat or part of something in the background but if you look at it from the corner of your eye or blur your eyes it looks like her arm continues up to her forhead. I only offer this extreme nitpick in the name of perfection, these are gonna look sweet when you actually put the figure on them. have you picked out a bubble yet that will work?

Thats part of her head. She has a bloby fleshy "hair net" type thing on the back of her head. Thats what you are seeing.

Hey Greg. I can't figure out why I think "there's just something 'not right'" about this cardback. It might be that I'm totally blown away by the custom figure so I think I should be equally blown away with the cardback. I'm just not sure! Can you email me the resource pic so I can play around with it. I'd like to offer some helpful suggestions to back up my "feelings" but, so far, I'm unable to articulate them. blushing.gif

I think I can add some reasons to why it doesn't look just right. I think it has to do with the lighting. She's in direct light with sharp shadowing and the background is ambient light. The two together just don't look right. Perhaps she needs a treatment like the Rancor Keeper where the entire background is airbrushed.

Thanks for the critiques guys.
Kev, i'll email the image tonight.

Savrip, you werent the first to say it, so since it keeps being said, airbrush it is.
Good point about the direct light vs washed light.

How's this?

The POTF one looks fine.

I'd suggest darkening the brushwork in the upper left of the Jedi card so it pulls the eye more towards her. You want her, and not the background, to be the lightest part.

The one on the left I like (if it's any different). That version looks so good I'd date her.

that thing on her head that I mentioned earlier doesnt bother me at all in this version, I think it was blending into the object behind her in the previous version and that made it confusing, this latest version it is still there but doesnt confuse the eye.

Thanks tyk, I did exactly that, but when i was adjusting the image to the size i wanted, it got cut off. I didnt see it till you pointed it out.

Savrip, they are both the same, 'cept the POTF one is pulled back a bit as per kenner's usual. The yellow is brighter in the figure area but i went with the darker/oranger (word?) from the jedi card. But the image is the same.

wee, its funny how much it stands out now, i've looked at this picture over and over while trying to decide which image to use and i hardly noticed it before.

Finally getting back to this.

ESB Yoda.

I finally got some blisters ( and it has been one FRUSTRATING roller coaster ride) but, Yoda's Hovel
came thru for me where so many others have let me down.

The snake, cane and belt are repros made by me.

More to come real soon.
